About Me

Hi. I’m Yvonne. Nice to meet you!

I’m a curious artist. A result of being raised in a family of makers, I have spent most of my life MacGyvering art & craft supplies with recycled materials in order to pursue my curiosity.

Early on, I am sure I learned how to paint my name before writing it thanks to my folk artist grandmother. Since then, I never really packed away my paints or crayons.

In university I studied visual art and was taught the “proper” things about art and the creative process. What I really learned, though, is that I love the process more than the outcome, and curiosity leads to wonderful paths where I can fully explore and push the boundaries of art making.

In 2013 I became a Certified Zentangle Teacher® (CZT) after completing a training course in Rhode Island, USA with the founders of the Zentangle Method. It is an artform that changed the way I look at inspiring others through art. Click here to read my Zentangle story.

Over the years, my artworks have been published in magazines, printed on accessories and stationery, and displayed in art galleries across Canada. I have taught over 2,000 people in my workshops and have had the distinct honour of sparking that creative “a-ha!” moment for many.

Y? small art...

Well I've been a flight attendant for 26yrs and packing everything I need to work and play while I travel is an art form in itself!! Hotel room desks offer a small "studio" space and I want to limit the "craftermath" So making small art on the fly is how I get my dose of creative joy!

I consider the dessert menu required reading and snow is my favourite season!

I am happy to have you here. Look around to see what inspires you. Maybe that inspiration will eventually hang on your wall, be a gift to someone, or perhaps you’ll join me in a workshop. You can also sign up to receive my emails or send me a message to say “hi!” and let me know what inspires you.

                                                       Welcome!
